At long last the veil of our secrecy is lifted! Emerging as the third contender for world domination is the CHINESE EMPIRE! Ruled by their child emperor, the Chinese care little for Viking barbecue feasts, or Aztec Vegetable growing contests. The Child Emperor tasks his subjects with gathering the the most exquisite toys from the corners of the world. Of course this will lead the Chinese empire onto a collision course with the other two factions. The Child emperor's army consists of disciplined warriors, ranging from martial arts specialists and spiritual zen-masters to firework-strapped rocketeers, and will prove to be evenly matched to the brutish Vikings and insidious Aztecs!
It has been a long wait for some, but your patience has been rewarded! As we introduce to you the Chinese empire, you will find we have updated the factions page with a sample of their military might: say hello to the Footsoldier (putting the swords in Swords & Soldiers), the Rocketeer, Yin Yang and Arrowrain. Check it out on the factions page! And when you're done with that, feast your eyes on some new screenies and wallpapers featuring the Chinese in action!
And if you're still hungry for info, check out the new "meet the team" video up on the Nintendochannel. The video features an introduction of our studio and an interview where Jasper, me and Fabian talk about the hows and whats of S&S. So head over to the NintendoChannel on your Wii and look for We Are Wiiware: Swords & Soldiers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rDO4jwwT7A
My good friend Daan (NintenDaan at Youtube) added it. Also check the rest of his Wii/DS(i) movies he added.
So the throwing star in the logo didnt gave you a vague hint?
@Jan Hoos
so the first thing you thought when you saw the shuriken was chinese?
the first thing that would come up would be ninjas or samurais..xD
@ SoulQuick
Jan Hoos is part of the Ronimo team ;-)
Just check the Youtube movie.
ah oke didnt know xD
@Jan Hoos njah maakt niet uit man;)
hahah toffe game =D
Ninja start belongs to a ninja which is of course japanese.
The fact it's chinese is a surprise, but frankly it's close enough.
It's still a pretty good faction. Keep up the good work Ronimo!
I agree, i would have rather seen japanese.
I could totally picture samurai, ninja, and sumo wrestlers =P
Chinese is cool to though. Can't wait for the game to be out.
It's finally here! Keep up the good work guys! :)
Well that makes the star looking thing on the logo make sense (I think its a shuriken or something that is Asian I think)
there better be a ninja star unit....
I HAVE THE SWORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROCKET POWER!!!
The code you get for completing the 25 achievement should unlock the Space Marines as a playable faction. :P
Well it does make sense if you think about it. The Chinese is and was one the major powers of the world. But as SanderEv said, i didnt see this coming hahaha
Shuriken + Sakuras = Japanese to me.
However, in a game that's proud of it's "historical inaccuracy" i don't really think it matters.
The only thing that disappointed me was no ninja unit. And no shuriken thrower either. (weird, since the other two ranged combat units are displayed on the logo)
EXACT RELEASE DATE IS NEEDED!!!!!!!
It will be released before june, so: tomorrow, 8th of May or 22nd. If you keep track on the EU WiiWare releases. I think tomorrow will be too soon.
So.. I'll say: 8th.
But what about the MARINES you could see in the Nintendo channel Video at the campaign mode select screen? Did you take them out? unlock them with the "secret code"? ;]
^^^
They did that on purpose to throw you off. They took extra care to make sure they didn't say or show them at all, they wouldn't make a bone-head mistake like that.
Very sneaky ;)
lol! Im not part of the team :P I wish... Would have been a nice start in the gaming world. I only came there for testing once. Yes its japanese, but if you look at the logo theres 3 factions in there. So it had to be something asian.
Ofcourse before I tested I wasnt sure either but I had my money on something in the asian region.
It's just strange how the throwing axes from the vikings are there, the blow darts from the aztec are there, yet there's a Shuriken when the ranged unit for the chinese is the rocketeer.
Oh well.
noone mentions the shield itself ;)
...or how one of those rockets would have fitted in...
People just have gotten too used to those games that take themselves too seriously! :-P
@Jan Hoos
I know that U r not 1 of the team, but I thought it was funny 4 the others 2 say that.
Now the funny part: hoeveel mensen weten wat hier staat als ik het zo typ?
Is this game coming out this Monday?
Ik denk best veel mario :P
Nice work with the countdown guys , if i scroll through the comments , no one really thought about chinese, so it's been a good secret. :D
Keep up
